The law offices of Sommerman, McCaffity, Quesada & Geisler, L.L.P. pulled off a small miracle yesterday, we surprised our own Al Ellis with a “Hunka Hunka Happy Birthday” party.
For those of you who have yet to meet Al, to say he is an Elvis Presley fan is an understatement. His office houses two life-sized Elvis cut outs and we can often hear Elvis tunes being whistled in the hallways. Al is also notoriously difficult to surprise. Luckily all of the whispers and hushed phone calls to Elvis impersonators paid off. As Al blew out candles to celebrate his 70th, an Elvis impersonator led Al’s coworkers, wife and granddaughter in a Happy Birthday song he won’t soon forget.
As many who know Al can tell you, his dancing shoes may lie with Elvis, but his heart belongs to helping others. Al Ellis has dedicated his life to giving back to his community. Al’s more than 20-year involvement with Habitat for Humanity is only one of many places he donates his time and resources. In honor of Al, we have partnered with Dallas Habitat for Humanity and are asking Al’s friends, family and colleagues to donate $70 in honor of his 70th birthday.
