Leader in the Courtroom and Leader in the Community
A 1997 Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law graduate, Laura Benitez Geisler, has spent her entire career advocating for plaintiffs in catastrophic personal injury, wrongful death, product liability, and civil rights cases. Laura’s passion for this area of law is fueled by her desire to help others obtain justice. Her work has resulted in several multi-million-dollar recoveries for her clients, both in trial and negotiated settlements.
Among her honors and accolades, Laura has been recognized on numerous “top” lawyer lists, including: “Best Lawyers in America,” Lawdragon’s “500 Leading Plaintiff Consumer Lawyers,” Thomson Reuters’ “Texas Super Lawyer” in the field of Personal Injury and “Top Women Lawyers in Texas”; National Diversity Council’s “Top 50 Multicultural Lawyer (Dallas) and Top 50 Women Lawyers (Dallas); and Best Lawyers in Dallas” by D Magazine. In 2019, Texas Lawyer identified Laura as a “Texas Trailblazer.”
Throughout her career, Laura has held significant leadership roles in the legal community. Before serving as the first Hispanic lawyer to lead the Dallas Bar Association as President in 2019, Laura served as President of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers and the Dallas Women Lawyers Association. Laura is a Dallas Bar Foundation Trustee, a member of the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee, and a Master of the Bench in the Patrick Higginbotham Inn of Court.
