The firm’s Laura Benitez Geisler, Jody Rodenberg and Sean McCaffity have continued their successful representation of former Quitman, Texas police officer Terry Bevill, who was allegedly fired and arrested in a retaliatory move by several local officials in 2017. Those officials were found liable by a jury last year for the unlawful firing and arrest of Bevill after he entered an affidavit in support of a change of venue motion in a separate action.
U.S. District Judge Amos Mazzant recently denied a number of posttrial motions for reconsideration from the defendants, a former district attorney, district court judge, sheriff and mayor in Wood County.
